On August 19, 2025, California American Water completed the acquisition of the Bass Lake Water system. We provide safe, reliable water and wastewater service to approximately 700,00 people across California, operating more than three dozen systems statewide, including four in your region. We’re committed to delivering the same high standard of service and investing in the infrastructure and innovation that keep our communities thriving.

You’re in good hands.

Your service will be supported by incoming team members from Bass Lake Water Company, alongside our experienced California American Water operators. These professionals are certified in water treatment and distribution, bringing deep local knowledge and technical expertise to your community.

About your rates.

There will be no immediate changes to your current rates. California American Water has adopted the existing water rates from Bass Lake Water Company. As a regulated utility, any future rate changes must be reviewed and approved by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

Billing changes.

Beginning in September, you will receive your first monthly bill from California American Water. This bill will reflect any credits from quarterly payments previously made to Bass Lake Water Company, along with any outstanding balances.

All future payments should be made directly to California American Water. To help you get started, your welcome packet includes details about our convenient payment options.

Once you receive your new account number on your first bill, we encourage you to register for online bill pay through MyWater, our secure customer portal, at amwater.com/mywater.

Transitioning to Metered Billing

Customers currently billed at a flat rate will be transitioned to metered service over time. Metered billing allows you to track your water usage and detect potential leaks early. We’ll share more information as we begin meter installations in your area.

As a California American Water customer, you now have access to a wide range of services, including:

  • 24/7 emergency support at 888-237-1333
  • Language translation services
  • Online Account management and paperless billing via MyWater
  • Water conservation tools and resources

A helping hand for customers in need.

Qualified customers will also have access to our Low-Income Assistance Program, which helps seniors on low fixed incomes and families facing financial hardships. This program will be available after California Public Utility Commission approval, estimated by the end of the year.
