PROJECT MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
Standard Project Controls
American Water has selected Trimble Unity Construct as the American Water Project Management Information System (AWPMIS) to manage selected Capital Investment Projects across all affiliated companies. All project-related tasks and documents will be managed, housed and coordinated using AWPMIS.
The AW Capital Project Support & Compliance Team assembled Quick Reference Guides (QRG) to provide self-service training for AWPMIS features.
General AWPMIS Information
The following resources assist with general navigation and overall usage of AWPMIS:

AWPMIS Mobile Application
AWPMIS offers a Mobile Application that excels at entering information directly from the Mobile device into AWPMIS. Some areas that benefit from the Mobile App include Daily Progress Reports and Request for Information.
Project Specific Tasks
During Project kickoff, Project Managers will provide additional guidance and instructions as to the use of AWPMIS, including gathering information to create User accounts.
- Add External User
- Allows External Parties to request additional User Accounts
- Design Review
- AWPMIS will be used to capture all milestones within the Design Review Process
- Submittals
- All contractually required Submittals (e.g. Equipment, Materials, Safety Plans, Shop Drawings, etc.) must be submitted and approved using the Submittal Process in AWPMIS
- Request for Information
- All inquiries on a Project (i.e. RFI) must be routed and approved using the RFI Process in AWPMIS
- Daily Progress Report
- Progress Reports are required from each Contractor / Consultant as per the contract documents
- Draft Payment Application
- Each Pay Application and supporting documentation, submitted to AW, should be preceded by a Draft Payment Application (Pencil Copy) submitted for review and acceptance
- Project Closeout and Handover
- Each Project will follow a prescribed exercise to go through Project Closeout and Handover per the contract documents
