North Berry Road Water Main Replacement Project
Starting March 2026

North Berry Road Water Main Replacement Project

As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, reliable water service, Missouri American Water will begin a water main replacement project along Berry Road in March 2026. This infrastructure upgrade is essential to improving system reliability, reducing the risk of main breaks, and supporting future community growth. The project will include replacing aging water mains with new, more durable materials designed to serve customers for decades to come.

Tips for Construction Zone Safety:

  • Stay alert: Pay attention to flaggers, workers, and equipment, and be prepared for sudden stops.
  • Slow down: Follow all posted speed limits and adjust for traffic flows and weather conditions.
  • Give yourself some space: Leave at least two seconds of braking room between other vehicles.

Customer Impact: Customers may experience brief service interruptions. There are two instances when it will be necessary to interrupt your water service: (1) when we disconnect your water service line from our old water main and reconnect it to the new water main; and (2) when we connect the new water main to the existing water system. We will do our best to give you advance notice of these interruptions, in person or with an informational door hanger or phone call so you can plan accordingly. These interruptions are typically just a few hours. There is potential for unexpected service interruptions, such as pipe breaking during excavation. Because the replacement project may take several months, we recommend storing a gallon or two of drinking water during this period and renewing it regularly in case of an unplanned water outage. When your water service is restored, we recommend flushing your inside plumbing by turning on the water at a couple of inside faucets and allowing the water to run for a few minutes. Please ensure you are opted-in to receive “general” alerts for planned water outages. See more info below.

Restoration Information: Final cleanup and site restoration in your neighborhood will begin within a few weeks after the new water main and services are installed. It is usually necessary to delay the lawn restoration process to allow for the soil over the main and service to settle. Sometimes we must wait for suitable weather conditions. Any grass other than Zoysia will be restored with seed and straw. We will work to restore your property as close to its original condition as possible. We want to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this project. Missouri American Water will have a representative on site every day during the construction work. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Please note, permanent restoration work on asphalt, concrete, and lawn surfaces may be delayed during winter months (from mid-October through April 1) depending on local and state rules and regulations related to paving. When this occurs, we will complete the restoration work as soon as possible in the spring. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at: 866-430-0820.
