Iowa American Water Names Tony Loete Vice President of Operations

DAVENPORT, IA (APRIL 24, 2025) - Iowa American Water has named Tony Loete as Vice President of Operations. In this role, Loete will lead employees across the state in field operations, water production, system maintenance, water quality and environmental compliance to provide safe, clean, and reliable service to 227,000 Iowans.

"Tony is a valuable and versatile member of Iowa American Water’s team," said Brad Nielsen, president of Iowa American Water. "His extensive knowledge of water and wastewater system operations, ability to tackle complex problems, and extensive experience overseeing significant infrastructure investment projects and leading diverse teams will be well utilized in his new role."

Loete joined Iowa American Water in September 2024 as an Engineering Project Manager. Prior to that, he supported the City of Moline, Ill., as Director of Utilities, bringing 36 years of experience in water and wastewater systems to his new role, Since joining the Iowa American Water team, Loete has led projects ranging from $3-9 million in the Quad Cities and Clinton, all requiring successful collaboration with contractors, property owners, and external stakeholders.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and an associate degree from Black Hawk College. He holds water and wastewater operator licensure in both Iowa and Illinois. He will lead the Iowa American Water operations team from the company’s office in Davenport.
