“New Jersey American Water is proud to continue investing in Camden’s water infrastructure to support the city’s growth and long-term success,” stated Mark McDonough, President, New Jersey American Water. “Through these essential upgrades, we are significantly enhancing service reliability to help ensure that life keeps flowing smoothly for residents. Camden is a city on the rise, and we remain committed to working closely with local leaders and the community to support its continued growth through our infrastructure investments.”

The project also includes replacing fire hydrants and utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route. Additionally, New Jersey American Water will replace any customer-owned service line that has been identified as lead or galvanized as part of a statewide initiative to remove all lead and galvanized service lines by 2031.

“This $2.5 million infrastructure investment by New Jersey American Water is yet another indicator that tremendous progress is taking place across Camden,” said Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen. “Our partners at New Jersey American Water have set a high standard for water service delivery and reliability. The replacement of hydrants, utility-owned, and customer-owed service lines are an essential part of our city’s continued development.  These types of improvements are helping to leverage billions of dollars in additional investment taking place in every neighborhood.”
