Pennsylvania American Water Announces $1.6 Million Philipsburg Area System Upgrade
Decatur Township, Pa. (Oct.13, 2020) – Pennsylvania American Water announced today the start of construction to replace more than 1 mile of aging water main throughout its Philipsburg area system. The upgrades are part of a $1.6 million investment to enhance service reliability and fire protection.
On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, contractors will begin replacing water main along Six Mile Road in Decatur Township, Clearfield County. The pipe dates to the 1940s and has reached the end of its useful lifespan.
Work is also scheduled to take place in Rush Township, Centre County. During the next several weeks, crews will replace aging water main along Glass City and Phoenix Roads. Additionally, more than 1,200 feet of new water main will be installed along Tyrone Pike.
