  1. 9 11 20th Anniversary Commemoration Photo 9/11 20th Anniversary Commemoration
    To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, American Water installed a display of 2,977 American flags—one for each life lost—on the RCA Park Pier on Saturday, September 11. A short ceremony at the installation paid tribute to all who were impacted, including fire and police personnel, first responders and military service people.

    The serene memorial was displayed for 7 days on the Camden Waterfront – highly visible along the Delaware River from the waterfront promenade, Ben Franklin Bridge, Philadelphia.

  2. NJAW Parkside Logo New Jersey American Water NRTC Grant to PBCIP
    In July, New Jersey American Water announced the awarding of $950,000 in NRTC Funding to Parkside Business and Community In Partnership (PBCIP). This grant will help support improved housing and economic development opportunities for Camden’s Parkside Neighborhood. Additionally, with this funding, a collective effort with residents and community-based organization will help to develop strategies to renew distressed neighborhoods.

  3. American Water Honored by Forum of Executive Women as a Champion of Diversity American Water Honored by Forum of Executive Women as a “Champion of Diversity”
    “American Water believes that our board, management, and employees should reflect the diverse communities we serve.”

    American Water is honored to be recognized as a “Champion of Diversity” at the Forum of Executive Women’s 2021 Virtual Leadership Breakfast. The Forum of Executive Women is a membership organization comprised of senior-most positions that help to drive our regional economy and community.

  4. Employee Spotlight Keith Norman, Meter Reader

    American Water is excited to spotlight our Camden-based employee, Keith Norman. Keith, who works for American Water Contract Services Group, was born and raised in Camden’s Centerville neighborhood and has recently been promoted to Meter Reader. In his time with the company, Keith has exemplified a tremendous work ethic that’s reflected in his willingness to pitch in whenever and wherever needed.   5. AmerICANS in Action Photos AmerICANS in Action
    September marks our AmerICANS in Action month of service for American Water. Our company has long believed in the importance of being a good neighbor and good steward of the environment. Employees were eager to partner with numerous community organizations to safely participate in more than 11 volunteer events in Camden ranging from neighborhood and shoreline clean-ups, tree planting, donation drives and sandwich making.

    Additionally, employees are encouraged and supported in their own charitable endeavors through the Employee Volunteer and Matching Gift Program as part of the American Water Charitable Foundation.

  6. Parents of Promise LIVE Chat Poster Parents of Promise LIVE Chat – Camden Promise Neighborhoods
    American Water was excited to join Center for Family Service’s Camden Promise Neighborhood on their Parents-of-Promise LIVE Chat. This lively conversation gave a chance for Camden Residents to learn more about American Water and New Jersey American Water. Joe Szafran and Joey Rodriguez were able to highlight our company’s resources, and continued commitment to Camden.

    The LIVE Chat is a series of virtual conversations hosted by Camden Promise Neighborhood in efforts to inform the community about resources and opportunities available with local organizations and partners.

  7. Latest Sustainability Report American Water Announces Publication of Latest Sustainability Report
    American Water announced the publication of our 6th biennial Sustainability Report highlighting industry leading performance in 2019 and 2020. This report demonstrates our continue commitment to serving our customers and communities.
