Indiana American Water Awards Grant to Town of Lowell

LOWELL, IND. (February 27, 2023) – Indiana American Water, a subsidiary of American Water, today announced it has awarded the Town of Lowell a grant of $5,000 for improvements at Freedom Park. The 114-acre park is located on the town’s north side and is a joint venture between the Town of Lowell and West and Cedar Creek Townships.

“As a provider of quality water service to northwest Indiana for more than a century, our commitment to the area is strong,” said Indiana American Water President Matt Prine. “Giving back and being a good neighbor to our partner communities is a core part of who we are as a company, and we’re pleased to lend support to the enhancement efforts that have been underway for many years at Freedom Park.”

Freedom Park was established in 2002 and offers numerous sports, recreation and relaxation activities for the community, including walking paths, picnic and event facilities, volleyball, skateboarding, disc golf, soccer, and a dog park.

“We appreciate the significant investments Indiana American Water has made in our local water infrastructure since they purchased the Lowell water system in 2020 and this contribution to our efforts to enhance Freedom Park,” said Lowell Town Council President Todd Angerman. “Freedom Park is a real treasure for our residents, and we have been able to make significant enhancements to it over the last two decades thanks to the generosity of community partners like Indiana American Water.”
