Kentucky American Water Announces Promotions, New Rates and Regulatory Senior Manager

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 27, 2022) – Kentucky American Water has announced the promotion of four employees and named a new senior manager of rates and regulatory.

Susan Lancho has been named senior manager, external and government affairs for the company. Lancho has been with the company 22 years in various communications roles, and most recently served as senior manager, external communications. In her new position, Lancho will oversee communications, issues management, media relations, customer education, corporate giving and community outreach, while adding oversight of the company’s government affairs function. Additionally, Molly Van Over has been named senior paralegal/government affairs liaison. Van Over joined the company in 2021 and has provided legal support to both Kentucky American Water and Tennessee American Water. In her new, expanded role she will perform Kentucky government affairs activities and continue to support legal matters for Kentucky American Water and Tennessee American Water.

Justin Lane, who has served as operations project manager since 2020 has been promoted to senior manager, business development, and will lead the company’s growth strategy and manage customer relations for major account customers.

Roderick Sherman, who has served as customer accounts manager since 2020 has accepted the position of manager, operational excellence where he will focus on operational improvement across all areas of the business.

Jeffrey Newcomb has been named senior manager, rates and regulatory. Since 2011, Newcomb has held a variety of accounting, financial and capital planning and regulatory roles at NiSource, Inc., the parent company of Columbia Gas. Prior to that, Newcomb served as an accountant with Ernst & Young, LLP, in Chicago, Ill. Newcomb is a certified public accountant, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University.
