New 20-inch diameter water main installation begins along Industrial Drive
ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This week, Missouri American Water is installing about one mile of 20-inch diameter water main along Industrial Drive from Dix Road to Jaycee Drive. The new water main represents an investment of about $1.5 million to provide improved water service to support growth in the west side of the city.
No road closures are planned at this time, but some lane shifts will likely be needed to accommodate the new water line installation.
“We’ve invested about $12 million in upgrading 60- to 100-year-old pumps and pipes during the last 18 months,” said Gilbert Cole, Jefferson City Operations Supervisor. “This new water line will supplement our current water delivery to the west side of town. It will improve the reliability of service and support growth in that area.”
Twehous Excavating is installing the new water line. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-May.
