The 16th Annual Missouri American Water MR340 Race

More than 500 paddlers participated in the 16th annual Missouri American Water MR340 race which commenced on July 20 in Kansas City, KS and concluded on July 23 in St. Charles, MO.

Missouri American Water returned as the title sponsor by supplying volunteers and water bottles at the launch in Kansas City, check point in Jefferson City and the finish line in St. Charles. At the finish line, Missouri American Water crews provided additional race support through river bank cleanup efforts and supply a water trailer for thirsty participants and onlookers. Employee volunteers engaged by handing out water bottles, trophies and medals while welcoming racers.

Coined as the “world’s longest non-stop paddle race,” this endurance feat challenges paddlers and canoers to navigate a grueling 340 miles across the state of Missouri. The MR340 combines extreme sports and environmental stewardship.

Race proceeds benefit three environmental stewardship and education organizations: Missouri River Relief, Healthy Rivers Partnership and the Lewis and Clark Nature Center and Boathouse.  The MR340 also brings awareness to the importance of our rivers, which serve as a reliable source of drinking water for millions of Missourians.
