Lake Scranton Walking Path to Temporarily Close

SCRANTON, Pa. (December 7, 2023) – Pennsylvania American Water announced today that the walking path around the Lake Scranton reservoir will temporarily close to pedestrian traffic beginning Friday, December 8. The entire path will be closed while contractors trim trees and pave areas of the roadway. Work is expected to be completed on Friday, December 15, with the path reopening to pedestrians the following day.

The path has been closed from Route 307 to the access at Lakeview Drive since early November to replace a water line that runs along the trail. Work is still underway in that area and is expected to be completed in 2024.

Customers are reminded not to walk around closed gates or fencing to access the path.

Dunmore #1 Reservoir, which has a 1.5-mile nature trail, will be open as usual during this time and walkers are encouraged to explore the trail while Lake Scranton is temporarily closed.
