Providing high-quality water service is our business. We monitor and test your water at multiple points throughout the treatment process.

Each year, our team of experts performs thousands of tests statewide on the water before it leaves our treatment plants and in the pipes we use to deliver your water service, monitoring for more than 90 contaminants.

Partnership for Safe Water Awards

Pennsylvania American Water has received more Directors Awards from the Partnership for Safe Water than any other water utility in the nation.

We take water quality so seriously that:

• 33 of our water treatment plants have been nationally recognized with Directors Awards from the Partnership for Safe Water program for our long-term commitment to optimizing operations and achieving outstanding performance.
• 27 of these plants have maintained this high level of service for 20 years or more.
• Nine of our plants received the Elite Phase IV Presidents Award (Bangor, Brownell, Clarion, Crystal Lake, Hershey, Indiana, Nesbitt, Norristown and Philipsburg).

The national awards honor efforts in continuously optimizing water treatment plant and distribution system operation and performance.
